Students of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine UNAIR again scored achievements. Abdul Aziz, student of class of 2014, won second place in Regional Student Sports Week (POMDA). The competition held in the framework of selection of student athletes in East Java was held at the University of Muhammadiyah Malang on May 15-17, 2017. PUMDA was attended by 33 state and private universities in East Java. Airlangga University participated in the competition by sending 13 athletes consisting of 11 fighter athletes and 2 art athletes of martial arts. Three other FPK students also participated in this contingent, M. Aminuddin Ghufron (2013), Indra Purwanti (2014), and Tirta Agung (2016)
“There are three SMEs Pencak silat that contribute to this race is UKM SH Teratai, Self-Shield and Sacred Site” said Aziz who is representative of Tapak Suci. Aziz won the Class A class competition followed by 22 participants. Achievements are printed by Aziz is not instant, in preparation aziz require regular exercise and build mental champions in the game. Not to forget Aziz also continue to pray and approach to Allah SWT to be given the best achievement. The sixth semester student who holds the 4th jasmine belt in Pencak Silat Tapak Suci also helps to become an assistant coach. Aziz trained the martial arts of Sutorejo Branch of Tapak Suci.
“I just want to make my parents proud, and want to make other people can smile happy because I” motivated Aziz who is a student from Bojonegoro.
