FPK News – Prof.’s Visit Hyun-Woo Kim from Pukyong National University (PKNU) as the Keynote Speaker in the 1st International Fisheries and Marine Conference is an opportunity for FPK UNAIR Leaders to discuss cooperation. The discussion was attended by Vice Chancellor 3 Prof. Moch. Amin Alamsjah, Ir., M.Sc., PhD. In his remarks, the FPK Dean expressed his gratitude for the visit of Prof. Hyun-Woo Kim to FPK UNAIR. Prof. Moch. Amin Alamsjah, Ir., M.Sc., PhD also hopes that the MoA between FPK UNAIR and PKNU can be improved through Student and Staff Exchange Programmed and Research Collaboration.

During his first visit in Surabaya, Prof. Hyun-Woo Kim introduced the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), a Korean Government Office that helped many countries to develop research excellence. The scope of KOICA is: student and staff exchange (mobility program), international conference, and equipment facilities that can support research, as well as providing scholarships for further study of S3. He also expressed strategic steps to get PKNU scholarships through staff exchange first to establish communication with prospective supervisors. Prospective scholarship recipients must follow the supervisor’s research so as to facilitate the preparation of proposals. Year 2019 can send CVs and proposals. The scholarship offer from PKNU was delivered by the Dean of FPK to FPK young lecturers who were present at the strategic meeting. PKNU scholarship offer was welcomed by one of the young lecturers, Eka Saputra, S.Pi., M.Sc. from the Ministry of Maritime Affairs who are interested in further study of PhD to PKNU. In closing, the Dean of FPK expressed his hope of obtaining funding from KOICA so that he could improve the International Faculty and mobility program. Not only that, in the future it can collaborate internationally with PKNU.
