Surabaya – Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) held its 263rd Graduation Ceremony on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at the Airlangga Convention Center (ACC), UNAIR Campus C. On this occasion, the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine (FPK) UNAIR celebrated the graduation of 160 students who are ready to embark on their academic and professional journeys and contribute to the fields of fisheries, marine affairs, and biotechnology.
Of the 160 FPK UNAIR graduates, 75 graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Aquaculture, 75 with a Bachelor’s degree in Fisheries Product Technology, 7 with a Master’s degree in Fisheries and Marine Biotechnology, and 3 with a Master’s degree in Fisheries Science. This achievement reflects FPK UNAIR’s commitment to producing competent graduates equipped to face various challenges in the professional world.
One of the reflective moments during the graduation ceremony came through a speech delivered by Fahmi Bayhaqi, an FPK UNAIR graduate and former President of the FPK UNAIR Student Executive Board (BEM) in 2025, as the representative of the graduates. In his speech, Fahmi invited fellow graduates and guests to take a moment of silence and pray for communities across Indonesia currently facing various disasters.
“Education is not about how often we get the right answers. Education is also about how we face reality when the answers we seek remain elusive,” said Fahmi.
The message emphasized that education is not solely oriented toward academic achievement but also plays an important role in shaping character, empathy, and graduates’ ability to understand issues within society. This aligns with SDG 4 (Quality Education), which promotes inclusive and quality education while supporting the development of knowledge, skills, and humanitarian values.
FPK UNAIR Graduation Parade
Following the graduation ceremony, the celebration continued with the FPK UNAIR Graduation Parade, initiated by Krakenmania with the support of several student organizations. The event served as an appreciation for the graduates’ dedication and perseverance throughout their studies while fostering a strong sense of togetherness within the FPK UNAIR community.
The 263rd UNAIR Graduation marks the completion of one academic chapter and the beginning of a new journey for the graduates. Equipped with the knowledge, experiences, and values gained at FPK UNAIR, the graduates are expected to continue growing and making meaningful contributions to society and the fisheries and marine sectors.
