Airlangga Maritime Week 2025: A Journey of Perseverance and Inspiration

Bagikan

Participating in Airlangga Maritime Week (AMW) 2025 was an unforgettable experience — a journey filled with lessons, challenges, and triumphs. From the initial submission of our work, to the nerve-wracking video presentation stage, and finally reaching the Top 10 before earning Second Place, every step of the process was a meaningful story of growth. Feelings of anxiety, fear, and doubt intertwined with excitement and determination, shaping an experience that will always remain in my memory.

What struck me the most about AMW was that it was more than just a competition — it was a learning platform. It became a space to train mental resilience, strengthen teamwork, and prove that with effort and faith, even what seems impossible can be achieved. The support from our mentor and team advisor was a great source of motivation, helping us remain steadfast despite unexpected obstacles during the event.

September 13, 2025, was a day filled with tension and anticipation. Time seemed to move quickly as we waited for our turn to present. When our team — the third to present — finally stepped forward, everything went smoothly at first. However, an unexpected incident occurred: I suddenly lost consciousness. The quiet room turned into one of concern and urgency, and I will always be grateful to the AMW committee for their quick and caring response. Though advised not to continue, I insisted on presenting. The committee kindly provided a chair so I could proceed. Thankfully, the presentation and Q&A sessions were completed, even though there were still areas of improvement in our research as noted by the judges. Despite this, my team and I felt proud to have given our best, even as doubts lingered about our chances of winning.

As the announcement ceremony began, emotions ran high. When the third-place winner was called, one of my teammates began to cry — convinced we had not placed. But to our surprise and joy, our team “Thalassia Oceannore” was announced as the Second-Place Winner. Overwhelmed with disbelief, pride, and happiness, we walked to the stage smiling, knowing that all our struggles had paid off. The moment became a powerful reminder that perseverance and teamwork always lead to meaningful results.

I am deeply grateful to the judges, the organizing committee, and everyone who supported us throughout this journey. AMW 2025 will always hold a special place in my heart — not only as a competition, but as a testament that effort and persistence never go unrewarded. I hope that AMW continues to grow as a platform for young generations to share their innovations and creative ideas for Indonesia’s maritime future. For future participants, remember — never give up, even when things get tough. Stay true to your goals, do your best, and keep faith that the results will come beautifully in their time.

Winning Second Place was not only an achievement for me and my team, but also a heartfelt tribute to our beloved alma mater. Thank you to the AMW committee, liaison officers, mentors, and judges for this unforgettable experience. Airlangga Maritime Week 2025 will forever be a cherished memory and proof that hard work truly never betrays the results.
