In a significant step towards international academic engagement, the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences (FPK) at Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) visited Universitas Tidar (UNTIDAR) in Magelang on Tuesday, 29 April 2025, from 09.00 to 12.00 WIB. The purpose was to explore collaborative opportunities—particularly with UNTIDAR’s Aquaculture Study Program under the Faculty of Agriculture.

The delegation from FPK UNAIR was led by Dr. Eng. Sapto Andriyono, S.Pi., MT., Vice Dean for Research, Innovation and Community Service. They were warmly received by Professor Sutrisno Hadi Purnomo, S.Pt., M.Si., Ph.D., Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture at UNTIDAR, alongside the deputy deans and the heads of the Aquaculture, Nutrition, and Food Technology study programmes. The meeting unfolded in a relaxed yet purposeful atmosphere, as both sides discussed potential synergy in education, research and community outreach.

“Although still relatively new, the Aquaculture Study Programme at UNTIDAR displays extraordinary enthusiasm. We recognise significant potential for mutual support, particularly in academic advancement and applied research collaboration,” said Dr. Ir. Woro Hastuti Satyantini, M.Si., during her welcome remarks.

During the discussion, both parties agreed to initiate exploratory cooperation through activities such as faculty and student exchanges, technical training in aquaculture practices, and the possibility of joint research initiatives. The conversation also extended to the development of the “Merdeka Belajar – Kampus Merdeka” (MBKM) programme across institutions.

This visit marks a promising, foundational move in forging collaboration between FPK UNAIR and UNTIDAR. It is anticipated that this partnership will soon translate into concrete action—advancing fisheries education and research in Indonesia and contributing to regional excellence.
