Academic Profile

Ayu Lana Nafisyah, S.Pi., M.Sc., Ph.D. is a lecturer and researcher at the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Universitas Airlangga, specializing in Aquatic Primary Producers, particularly microalgae and their ecological roles in aquatic ecosystems.

Her research focuses on interactions among microalgae in both open and closed aquatic environments, including the occurrence and ecological impacts of harmful algal blooms (HABs). She also investigates the potential of microalgae as biological agents for environmental remediation, particularly in mitigating emerging pollutants such as microplastics.

Dr. Ayu actively develops biological studies on microalgal photosynthetic activity and ecosystem dynamics to support environmental health, sustainable aquaculture, and aquatic productivity. Her work contributes to advancing scientific understanding of aquatic ecosystem resilience and environmentally sustainable resource management.

She has published extensively in internationally indexed journals and achieved a Scopus H-index of 8 (Scopus ID: 57202537739).
