[FPK, NEWS] – The Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences Student Executive Board (BEM FPK UNAIR) orchestrated a remarkable initiative on Friday, 22nd September 2023, by organizing a benevolent blood donation drive named FISH (Fisheries in Sharing Health). In partnership with the Indonesian Red Cross Society (PMI Surabaya City), this altruistic event aimed to foster a culture of health and compassion within the academic community and students.
The event, hosted at the 1st-floor hallway of Building C within the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Affairs at Universitas Airlangga, successfully garnered widespread participation and support from both faculty members and students. The enthusiasm displayed during the event was truly commendable.
Prior to donating blood, all participants underwent thorough health checks, including blood pressure and hemoglobin level assessments, ensuring their well-being. Those deemed eligible to donate blood received tokens of appreciation from the organizers, alongside a blood-enhancing supplement as a gesture of gratitude.
The FISH programme marks a significant step towards promoting a healthy lifestyle among the academic community and students. By encouraging blood donation, it not only contributes to saving lives but also raises awareness about the importance of health and well-being.
