On Saturday and Sunday, October 18–19, 2025, the Student Legislative Council (BLM) of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences (FPK), Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR), conducted its routine program, Monitoring and Evaluation II (Monev II). This activity aimed to assess the progress and performance of student organizations within the faculty, including the Student Executive Board (BEM), Student Associations (HIMA), and Semi-Autonomous Bodies (BSO). The program served as a platform to ensure that every organizational unit’s work programs are effectively implemented, aligned with objectives, and synergized across the faculty’s student governance ecosystem.
The Monitoring and Evaluation II event brought together all representatives from BEM FPK UNAIR, HIMA program associations, BSO units, and members of BLM FPK UNAIR. The two-day session, held from 09.00 to 14.00 WIB, began with preparatory meetings and continued with detailed presentations and discussions regarding each organization’s work programs—both completed and ongoing. On the first day, each ministry within BEM FPK UNAIR presented reports on their respective programs, followed by constructive evaluations and feedback sessions. On the second day, HIMA and BSO representatives shared their program outcomes, challenges, and improvement plans. The event concluded with a closing ceremony and group documentation, symbolizing the shared commitment of all student bodies toward continuous improvement.
This initiative not only monitored program progress but also strengthened organizational accountability and collaboration among the various student institutions under FPK UNAIR. The open and interactive evaluation process encouraged active dialogue and mutual learning, fostering a culture of transparency and teamwork among student leaders. Throughout the Monitoring and Evaluation II activities, participants received valuable feedback that will help improve future organizational performance. Several critical points emerged during the discussions, Improved coordination is needed among BEM, HIMA, and BSO to build greater synergy and operational efficiency, Enhanced documentation and publication of activities are necessary to increase public awareness and amplify organizational impact and Innovation in work programs is essential to address emerging challenges and meet the evolving needs of students and the academic community. The evaluation highlighted the importance of integrating creativity, accountability, and collaboration in every student initiative. It also reaffirmed the role of BLM FPK UNAIR as a legislative body that supports governance oversight while fostering inter-organizational growth and professionalism among student organizations.
The successful implementation of Monitoring and Evaluation II reflects BLM FPK UNAIR’s continuous dedication to ensuring effective governance and quality assurance within the faculty’s student ecosystem. By promoting open communication, transparent evaluation, and collaborative problem-solving, this activity becomes a significant moment of reflection and renewal—encouraging all student organizations to enhance their contribution to the faculty, university, and broader society. In the future, it is expected that BEM, HIMA, and BSO FPK UNAIR will continue to uphold this spirit of accountability and innovation, advancing the faculty’s reputation as a center of leadership development and community engagement within Universitas Airlangga.
