Dr. Laksmi Sulmartiwi, S.Pi., M.P. is a lecturer and researcher at the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Universitas Airlangga, specializing in Fish Physiology, Ichthyology, and Histology. Her research focuses on fish physiology, histopathology, reproductive biology, seaweed waste valorization, and natural antioxidants derived from marine resources.
Her scientific work contributes to a better understanding of fish health, physiological adaptation, and reproductive performance in aquatic organisms. She is actively involved in research related to stress physiology, tissue-based health assessment, and the development of value-added products from fisheries and marine resources.
Dr. Laksmi has developed innovative approaches in aquatic animal health monitoring and holds a patent for a Method for Acute Stress Assessment in Cantang Grouper (Epinephelus fuscoguttatus × Epinephelus lanceolatus) (Patent No. P00202514815). She has authored 87 scientific publications and achieved a Scopus H-index of 9 (Scopus ID: 57193714455).
Currently, she serves as Vice Dean for Academic Affairs of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Universitas Airlangga for the 2025–2030 period.
