MUI is a non-governmental organization that accommodates ulema, zuama, and Islamic scholars to guide, foster, and protect Muslims in Indonesia. The MUI acts as an interface between the secular Indonesian government, and the Islamic community. This activity aims to provide a forum for young educators throughout Surabaya as cadres of millennial scholars. Educators are a means of preaching. In preaching must be able to adapt and innovate. The role of social media is the most strategic platform in the current millennial era. This is because the media is able to penetrate the boundaries of space and time. Because in essence da’wah is embracing not hitting, loving not competing, educating not aiming, fostering not insulting, seeking solutions not seeking sympathy, defending not criticizing.
The competence of an educator is also an important thing that must be considered. There are three important things for an educator, namely moral education, competence, and commitment to the spirit of nationalism. Islam and nationality are two forms of values that build the people of the archipelago. Strong Indonesian citizens are citizens who love their religion sincerely and strive and are committed to building their nation with all their heart. An educator must be able to act wasathiyah. Wasathiyah is a term for religious moderation. Religious moderation is the key to creating tolerance and harmony. Religious moderation is needed to live together. Religious moderation will be able to create good citizens as well as good religious followers.
