On Friday, October 31, 2025, the Ambassadors of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences (FPK) Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) conducted an official comparative study visit with the Ambassadors of the Faculty of Medicine UNAIR. The activity took place at Kogu Space, Jl. Arief Rahman Hakim No. 59, Surabaya, and was formally opened by the Chief Organizer, Rehan Fitrianto, an active ambassador from the 2023 cohort representing the External Relations Division of FPK Ambassadors. The visit was designed as a strategic platform for institutional exchange, fostering collaboration, and strengthening inter-faculty partnerships within Universitas Airlangga. Through this initiative, both ambassador communities aimed to enhance organizational quality, expand networks, and support the university’s commitment to academic excellence and global engagement.
The comparative study began with a warm opening remark delivered by the Chief Organizer. In his address, he expressed sincere appreciation for the initiative and highlighted the importance of collaborative dialogue between faculty ambassador communities. He emphasized that such engagements are not merely ceremonial visits, but rather strategic forums for exchanging knowledge, sharing organizational best practices, and building sustainable professional relationships. The event was attended by representatives from both ambassador bodies, creating an interactive and constructive academic atmosphere. This initiative reflects the commitment of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences to continuously improve student-led programs that contribute to academic promotion, institutional branding, and community outreach efforts aligned with the university’s internationalization agenda.
During the discussion and presentation sessions, several key points were addressed. The agenda included the introduction of FPK UNAIR Ambassadors from the 2023, 2024, and 2025 cohorts, followed by comprehensive presentations of flagship programs from each division of both FPK and Faculty of Medicine Ambassadors. Each division outlined its work plans, achievements, challenges, and strategies for maintaining sustainability and impact. The External Relations Division of FPK Ambassadors presented its initiatives in building partnerships, expanding institutional networks, and facilitating inter-organizational collaborations. Meanwhile, both ambassador communities engaged in a dynamic sharing session, exchanging insights on leadership development, communication strategies, academic promotion activities, and community service engagement. The program concluded with a documentation session, symbolizing a shared commitment to future collaboration and continuous improvement.
The comparative study program of FPK UNAIR Ambassadors was implemented effectively and generated significant impact. Beyond strengthening internal organizational capacity, the activity supports the implementation of Sustainable Development Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) by fostering collaborative networks, experience exchange, and inter-community partnerships. By building connections across faculties, this initiative reinforces cross-institutional cooperation and enhances student participation in academic diplomacy and institutional representation. Based on the outcomes of the study visit, it can be concluded that the Comparative Study Program organized by the External Relations Division of FPK UNAIR Ambassadors was successfully executed and delivered meaningful benefits. It is expected that similar initiatives will continue in the future, creating broader networks of friendship and collaboration among ambassador communities and further supporting Universitas Airlangga’s commitment to academic excellence, research development, and community engagement on both national and international levels.
