The Faculty of Fisheries and Marine (FPK) Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) continues to demonstrate its commitment to realizing transparent and accountable organizational governance. As part of efforts to strengthen the Integrity Zone (ZI) within the campus environment, FPK UNAIR conducted an asset management assistance activity on February 27, 2026. Held in the Meeting Room of the Directorate of Infrastructure, Environment, and Operational Management (PILO), this activity marked a crucial step in ensuring that all educational supporting facilities and infrastructure at FPK UNAIR are documented under high legal standards.
Strategic Synergy for Public Accountability
Asset management in an academic environment is not merely an administrative matter but serves as a foundation for the sustainability of research and community service. The FPK UNAIR asset management team collaborated directly with the PILO Directorate to synchronize data and conduct physical validation. This step was taken to ensure that every laboratory instrument, building, and field facility possesses clear and legally valid ownership status.
Within the framework of SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals), this internal collaboration among units at Universitas Airlangga demonstrates that institutional strengthening begins with infrastructure transparency. With well-managed assets, FPK can optimize resources to support innovation in the fisheries and marine sector.
Why Is Asset Inventory Crucial?
The primary objective of this assistance program is to establish administrative order covering bookkeeping, inventory management, and reporting. Without a reliable record system, the risks of asset loss or unilateral claims from external parties become significantly higher. This aligns with the spirit of the Integrity Zone in preventing maladministration and state financial losses.
Adity Gita Rohmatullah, S.Pi., Head of Facilities and Infrastructure Subdivision of FPK UNAIR and one of the asset management team members present at the activity, emphasized the importance of data precision. “This is not merely about numbers on paper, but about our responsibility toward state facilities used to educate future fisheries experts,” he stated.
The activity, involving the PILO Directorate (Infrastructure and Environmental Management), focused on both physical and digital audits. In accordance with transparency principles, each asset was assigned a unique identity connected to the SIMBA (Airlangga Asset Management Information System) application. This effort represents a concrete commitment by FPK UNAIR to prevent unauthorized asset control, forming part of risk mitigation within the Integrity Zone framework.
