Surabaya, October 20, 2025 – The Fisheries Processing Club (FPC) 2025 of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Universitas Airlangga (FPK UNAIR) successfully organized a podcast series featuring two main episodes centered on organizational insight and fisheries product innovation. This initiative, part of the Media and Information Division’s annual program, serves as a platform for sharing knowledge, experiences, and inspiration among students, particularly within the fisheries and marine sciences community.

The first episode, titled “Getting to Know FPC and Its Leadership Journey”, was recorded on October 4, 2025, at the official FPK UNAIR Podcast Studio. The invited guest was Fauziah Zanishar Diannisa, the Chairperson of FPC 2024, with Ahmad Fauzi Mansur, the Chairperson of FPC 2025, serving as moderator. This episode aimed to introduce new students and the general audience to the organization’s structure, values, and leadership experiences. Fauziah shared her personal journey from being a member to leading the club, highlighting lessons learned, leadership challenges, and the importance of teamwork in maintaining program continuity.

Throughout the discussion, she emphasized that participating in student organizations goes beyond gaining technical experience — it also builds character, leadership, and social responsibility. She encouraged students to be actively involved in organizations to develop soft skills essential for future success. The episode concluded with her motivational message for students to continue innovating and ensuring that FPC remains a dynamic, impactful, and future-oriented organization in the fisheries field.

The second episode, titled “Fisheries Product Diversification and the Role of Students in Innovation”, aired on October 13, 2025, featuring Ahmad Fauzi Mansur, Chairperson of FPC 2025, as the guest speaker. This discussion explored the importance of product diversification in the fisheries sector and the strategic role of students in driving innovation and sustainability. Ahmad explained that diversifying fishery products helps enhance the economic value of marine resources, expand markets, and support the sustainability of fisheries industries.

He also showcased several innovative creations by FPC members, such as fish-based cookies, shrimp dim sum, and shrimp spring rolls, which exemplify how marine raw materials can be transformed into modern, high-value food products. These products not only demonstrate creativity but also contribute to waste reduction, improved livelihoods for coastal communities, and new entrepreneurship opportunities. Ahmad encouraged students to pursue cross-disciplinary collaboration, continuous innovation, and a strong commitment to advancing the sustainable fisheries sector in Indonesia.

Both podcast episodes were well-received and generated high engagement among listeners and participants. The sessions were documented and produced by the Media and Information Division of FPC 2025, with plans for publication on the official Instagram account (@fpc.fpk) and the official FPC podcast channel.

Through this initiative, the Fisheries Processing Club continues to demonstrate its commitment to promoting student creativity, leadership, and innovation in fisheries product development. The podcast serves as an interactive medium for knowledge sharing and an inspiration for students to play an active role in building a sustainable and resilient fisheries sector.
