On Saturday (May 10, 2025) and Sunday (May 11, 2025), the Legislative Student Council (BLM) of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Universitas Airlangga (FPK UNAIR), carried out its routine program, Monitoring and Evaluation I (Monev). This event aimed to review and assess the mid-year activities of the Student Executive Board (BEM), Departmental Student Associations (HIMA), and Semi-Autonomous Bodies (BSO). The Monev program plays a critical role in ensuring that every student organization’s projects are on track, productive, and aligned with their intended goals.
The Monitoring and Evaluation (Monev) program is a regular initiative designed to evaluate the progress and performance of all student organizations under FPK UNAIR. This includes the BEM ministries, HIMA, and BSO, focusing on both completed and ongoing work plans. By systematically reviewing these activities, the program encourages constructive feedback, enhances accountability, and fosters synergy among the different student bodies. Moreover, Monev helps in identifying challenges faced during project implementation and offers solutions to strengthen overall organizational performance.
The event brought together all members of BEM FPK UNAIR, BPI BPH representatives of HIMA and BSO, as well as BLM members, creating a collaborative environment for discussions and evaluations. Scheduled from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM across two days, the program allowed participants to prepare thoroughly before engaging in in-depth discussions regarding current and upcoming initiatives. On the first day, each ministry within BEM FPK UNAIR presented their completed and planned programs, highlighting achievements, obstacles, and strategies for improvement. The sessions were interactive, with open discussions to ensure clarity and alignment across all parties.
On Sunday, HIMA and BSO representatives shared their ongoing work plans, as well as challenges faced during the initial months of their management period. Participants examined key areas requiring attention, such as coordination, communication, and resource allocation, to enhance the effectiveness of student-led initiatives. The event concluded with a formal closing by the MC, followed by a group documentation session, marking the successful completion of the Monev program.
The Monitoring and Evaluation event successfully generated numerous constructive insights aimed at improving the performance of BEM, HIMA, and BSO. Key evaluation points emphasized the importance of better coordination and synergy among student organizations, improved documentation and publication of activities to reach a wider audience, and the need for more innovative and adaptive work plans to meet current challenges. This program serves as a crucial reflection moment, helping student organizations strengthen their contribution to the faculty, the university, and society at large, while striving for excellence in leadership, organization, and community engagement.
