The Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences (FPK) at Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) proudly celebrates the outstanding achievement of three of its students. Andini Carolina (Fisheries Product Technology, Class of 2022), Rehan Fitrianto (Marine Science and Technology, Class of 2023), and Chelsea Hani (Fisheries Product Technology, Class of 2024) have successfully advanced as finalists in UNAIR’s 2025 Student Achievement Selection (Pilmapres), joining a select group of 30 top contenders across the university.
Before reaching the university-wide finals, Andini, Rehan, and Chelsea excelled in rigorous faculty-level selection processes, demonstrating exceptional academic and extracurricular capabilities. Their preparation intensified following participation in the Pilmapres Development Camp (School of Mawapres) held from April 25–27, 2025, at Hayyana Hotel and Resort in Trawas. The camp provided a structured platform for the finalists to refine their knowledge, presentation skills, and overall competence in a highly supportive environment.
CAMP SOM offered a crucial arena for these aspiring Mawapres candidates to hone their potential. During the camp, Andini, Rehan, and Chelsea received comprehensive training covering both academic and personal development aspects, ranging from public speaking, research communication, leadership, to ethical decision-making. Beyond formal sessions, the participants benefited greatly from interactive discussions and experience-sharing with high-achieving peers from various faculties, fostering collaboration, mutual encouragement, and stronger interpersonal bonds. While the competitive spirit remained, a sense of camaraderie and collective motivation prevailed, enriching their learning journey.
The selection of three representatives from FPK underscores the faculty’s commitment to nurturing well-rounded students capable of excelling in both academic and non-academic arenas. This achievement serves as a benchmark for other students, inspiring them to pursue excellence in research, community engagement, and personal development. It highlights UNAIR’s broader vision of developing graduates who are not only academically competent but also socially responsible and innovative in addressing contemporary challenges in fisheries and marine sciences.
Looking ahead, Andini, Rehan, and Chelsea will continue to the final stage of Pilmapres UNAIR 2025, where they will compete against 27 other university finalists.
