The Islamic Spiritual Division OASE (SKI OASE) of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Universitas Airlangga (FPK UNAIR), in collaboration with the Fisheries Product Technology Student Association (HIMATEKHIKAN), organized a social initiative titled “OASE Berbagi x Muara Kemilau” on 12 March 2026 at Saifunnur Mosque, Surabaya. This activity served as a tangible expression of student social responsibility and a platform to cultivate a culture of empathy and sharing among university students. As part of a collaborative effort between student organizations, the program reflected a shared commitment to delivering meaningful contributions to the surrounding community, particularly during the holy month of Ramadan.

The event involved the distribution of meals to local residents and worshippers attending the mosque, creating a warm and inclusive atmosphere that brought together students and the community. The implementation began with careful preparation by the organizing committee from SKI OASE and HIMATEKHIKAN, including food procurement, packaging, and logistical coordination. The meals were then distributed directly to community members around the mosque as well as individuals who came to break their fast at the location. The distribution process was conducted in an orderly and respectful manner, emphasizing togetherness and mutual care. Beyond the act of giving, the organizers highlighted that OASE Berbagi is designed not merely as a charitable activity, but as a medium to foster social awareness and strengthen Islamic values within student life. Through this initiative, students are encouraged to internalize the importance of generosity, compassion, and social responsibility as integral aspects of their personal and academic development.

Active participation from both organizing bodies demonstrated strong inter-organizational synergy within FPK UNAIR. The collaboration between SKI OASE, particularly its Community Welfare Division, and HIMATEKHIKAN illustrates how student organizations can work together effectively to create impactful social programs. This synergy not only enhances the effectiveness of program implementation but also strengthens the network and solidarity among student communities. The event also provided students with practical experience in community engagement, leadership, and teamwork—skills that are essential in both academic and professional contexts. By directly interacting with the community, students gained a deeper understanding of social issues and the importance of contributing to societal well-being.

Furthermore, the OASE Berbagi initiative aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 2 (Zero Hunger), by providing food assistance to those in need within the local community. The collaborative nature of the program also supports SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals), highlighting the importance of partnerships in achieving sustainable social impact. Through such initiatives, FPK UNAIR student organizations contribute to broader global development efforts while addressing immediate community needs. This activity reinforces the role of higher education institutions not only as centers of knowledge but also as agents of social change.

Through “OASE Berbagi x Muara Kemilau,” SKI OASE and HIMATEKHIKAN reaffirmed their commitment to fostering a socially conscious student community that actively contributes to society. The program is expected to inspire continuous acts of kindness and encourage the development of future social initiatives that provide tangible benefits to the wider community. Ultimately, this activity serves as a reflection of the values upheld by FPK UNAIR—compassion, collaboration, and meaningful contribution—while strengthening the role of student organizations in promoting social welfare and collective well-being.
