OVERVIEW

As the largest archipelagic country with a manageable sea area of 5.8 million km2, the maritime sector is very strategic for Indonesia. However, so far this sector has received less serious attention when compared to the mainland sector. The “Maritime Axis” and “Sea Toll Road” policies are still hopes that must be realized immediately and become a concern from the Government, Industry and Universities who have concerns in the framework of developing an efficient fishery and marine sector and providing benefits for the welfare of the people.
