The Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Universitas Airlangga (FPK UNAIR), has once again achieved a proud milestone through the accomplishments of two outstanding students who successfully secured the 2025/2026 Bank Muamalat Tahfidz Al-Qur’an Scholarship. This achievement highlights the faculty’s commitment to nurturing students who excel not only academically in fisheries and marine sciences but also demonstrate strong spiritual values and personal integrity. The recognition further reflects the holistic educational environment at FPK UNAIR, where intellectual development is balanced with character building and ethical responsibility.
The scholarship recipients are Maura Ajeng Prastiwi, a 2023 student from the Fisheries Product Technology Study Program, and Fathur Royyan, a 2025 student from the Aquaculture Study Program. Both students successfully passed a competitive selection process that required applicants to possess a minimum memorization certificate of three juz of the Al-Qur’an, followed by administrative screening and memorization verification assessments. Their success represents a significant achievement, considering the rigorous standards applied to ensure that recipients demonstrate both academic commitment and strong mastery of Quranic memorization. This accomplishment also illustrates how FPK UNAIR students continue to perform competitively at the national level through diverse forms of achievement beyond academic competitions.
The Bank Muamalat Tahfidz Scholarship is an educational support initiative designed for university students who are active Quran memorizers across Indonesia. The program provides financial assistance for educational expenses while also offering structured personal development programs, including training sessions and intensive bootcamps aimed at strengthening leadership skills, discipline, and personal growth. Fathur Royyan shared that he has completed memorizing all 30 juz of the Al-Qur’an and holds several tahfidz certificates validating his achievement, which became one of the supporting factors during the scholarship selection process. Their journeys demonstrate perseverance, discipline, and effective time management, qualities that are strongly encouraged within the academic culture of FPK UNAIR.
