In September 2025, the Islamic Spiritual Division (Sie Kerohanian Islam) of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences (FPK) at Universitas Airlangga successfully carried out its Internship Program, a series of activities aimed at enhancing faith, fostering Islamic brotherhood (ukhuwah Islamiyah), and promoting social contribution within the surrounding community. The program lasted for five days, featuring various educational, spiritual, and charitable activities designed to develop students’ religious understanding and moral awareness.
The internship program commenced on September 13, 2025, with an online Welcome Party, serving as an opening event to introduce participants, build communication, and create a spirit of togetherness from the very beginning. On September 16, 2025, participants attended a religious study session (Kajian) held at Ulul Azmi Mosque, focusing on deepening their Islamic knowledge and strengthening their spiritual quality. The following activity, on September 19, 2025, was an Al-Kahfi Recitation at the FPK Musholla, designed to build character and spiritual resilience through reflections on the lessons from Surah Al-Kahfi.
The program continued on September 26, 2025, with a Collective Recitation and Yasin Reading (Ngaji Bersama dan Yasinan) at the FPK Musholla. This session provided a meaningful space for prayer and togetherness, uniting participants and faculty members in hopes of blessings for the ongoing program. Finally, the series concluded on September 29, 2025, with OASE Berbagi Batch 3, a social outreach activity conducted at the Muhammadiyah Orphanage in Semampir. During this closing event, participants shared donations and spent time interacting with the children at the orphanage, embodying the Islamic values of compassion, care, and solidarity.
All activities throughout the internship program were conducted smoothly and received enthusiastic participation from students, committee members, and the academic community of FPK UNAIR. In his remarks, Akhsan, the Chairman of the Islamic Spiritual Division, expressed his hopes that the internship program would serve as a platform for learning and reinforcing Islamic character. He stated, “This program is not just about carrying out activities, but about cultivating the spirit of dakwah, brotherhood, and social concern within the campus environment.”
Meanwhile, Fatkur, as the Head of the Organizing Committee, conveyed his gratitude for the successful implementation of the entire series of events. He thanked the organizing committee, participants, and faculty members for their full support, saying, “May all the experiences we gained during this internship program become valuable lessons that inspire us to spread kindness and uphold Islamic values in our daily lives.”
The internship program concluded with a joint prayer of gratitude, symbolizing the unity and sincerity of all participants. Through this initiative, the Islamic Spiritual Division of FPK UNAIR successfully implemented core Islamic values while strengthening the bonds of brotherhood among students. The program also reflected the faculty’s commitment to shaping a morally upright, spiritually grounded, and socially responsible generation ready to contribute positively to society.
