PROFILE OF MASTER OF FISHERIES SCIENCE |
Master of Fisheries Science is a master’s degree to study fisheries science in the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine, Universitas Airlangga, Indonesia. It was established based on Rector’s Decree No: 148 / UN3.12 / AK / 2019, on April 24th, 2019. Master of Fisheries Science has fulfilled the minimum accreditation requirements based on the National Accreditation Agency for Higher Education (BAN-PT) No: 49 / SK / BAN-PT / Min-Akred / M / VIII / 2019. Master of Fisheries Science has 3 (three) main interest studies, which are Tropical Aquaculture Science, Tropical Aquatic Resource Management Science, and Aquatic Product Processing Technology which are mainly aimed to facilitate Bachelor’s degree-research according to their areas of interest. |

To be recognized nationally and internationally for excellence in knowledge development, applied science and technology in the field of tropical fisheries for sustainable fisheries based on the values of excellence with morality. |
MISSION OF MASTER OF FISHERIES SCIENCE |
1. To conduct and develop fisheries science education in accordance with the development of science and technology. |
2. To organize and develop superior research related to tropical fisheries, especially in the field of tropical aquaculture, aquatic resource management and aquatic product processing based on values of excellence with morality. |
3. To provide community services by applying the results of study and research based on the values of excellence with morality. |
GRADUATE PROFILE |
Master of Fisheries Science will have abilities as a) Researcher, b) Communicator, c) Teacher or Lecturer, d) Manager, and e) Leader. |
The detail profiles of the graduates of the master degree program are as follows: |
1. Researcher: A person who is capable of thinking logically to solve problems in the field of tropical fisheries, through effective, efficient, valid, and reliable research methods, and can be applied in the wider community. |
2. Communicator: A person who is able to become a reliable communicator in formulating, designing, implementing, and socializing programs, specifically in the field of fisheries and marine sciences. |
3. Teacher atau Lecturer: someone who is able to become an excellent educator in his area of expertise for students and vocational school students or university students in the fisheries and marine sector. |
4. Manager: A person who has managerial skills in managing fisheries business and management functions (planning, organizing, actuating, and controlling) in the application of tropical fisheries. |
5. Leader: A person who has leadership skills in leading fisheries-related institutions as well as the function of leading and advancing the development of tropical fisheries science applications. |
LEARNING OUTCOMES |
Learning outcomes from the Master of Fisheries Science, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine in Graduates Competency Standards (SKL) are expressed in three elements, namely attitudes, knowledge, and skills which are divided into general and specific skills. |

Capable of developing logical, critical, systematic and creative thinking through scientific research, design or art of science and technology that implements humanistic aspect based on their expertise, synthesize scientific concept and study based on the role and ethical aspects in the form of master thesis published in an accredited journal; |
2. Capable of validating academic or studies relating their expertise in solving problem faced by relevant societies or industries through developing their expertise; |
3. Capable of initiating scientific idea, thought and arguments responsibly and based on academic ethics, then disseminate through media for academic and societies in general; |

a. Capable of developing technology to increase the productivity of tropical aquaculture. |
b. Capable of developing technology for detecting and handling health and disease of tropical aquatic organisms. |
c. Capable of developing biotechnology in the field of reproduction and genetics of tropical aquatic organisms. |
d. Capable of developing feed and nutrition for tropical aquatic organisms. |
2. Tropical Aquatic Resource Management: |
a. Capable of developing conservation strategies for tropical aquatic resources. |
b. Capable of developing a tropical aquatic resource management model. |
c. Capable of developing a productivity management and tropical aquatic environments. |
3. Tropical Aquatic Product Processing Technology: |
a. Develop technology for processing tropical aquatic products. |
