Academic Profile

Prof. Dr. Endang Dewi Masithah, Ir., M.P. is a Professor of Plankton Ecology at the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Universitas Airlangga. Her research focuses on plankton ecology, algae biocontrol, biofloc technology, fisheries biotechnology, and sustainable aquatic environmental management.

Her scientific contributions have advanced the understanding of plankton dynamics and their application in improving aquaculture productivity and environmental sustainability. She is actively involved in developing innovative approaches for biological water quality control, sustainable aquaculture systems, and fisheries product development.

Currently, Prof. Endang serves as the Dean of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Universitas Airlangga for the 2025–2030 period. Under her leadership, the faculty continues to strengthen research excellence, innovation, international collaboration, and community engagement in fisheries and marine sciences.

She holds a patent for “Formulation of Catfish Surimi Siomay with Gelatin Addition” (Patent No. P00202400757) and has authored 62 scientific publications with a Scopus H-index of 9 (Scopus ID: 57193711325).
