The Islamic Spiritual Division OASE of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine at Universitas Airlangga (SKI OASE FPK UNAIR) conducted the drafting and ratification of its Articles of Association and Bylaws (AD/ART) on Sunday, April 12, 2026, through an online Zoom Meeting. This initiative marked a strategic step in strengthening the organizational system while enhancing the quality of student organization governance to become more structured, systematic, and sustainable. The activity reflects the organization’s commitment to building a solid institutional foundation that supports long-term development and effective program implementation.

The event was attended by all board members and active participants of SKI OASE FPK UNAIR, demonstrating a high level of engagement in shaping the organization’s future direction. The session began with an opening led by the presidium, followed by the presentation of the AD/ART draft, which included key elements such as vision, mission, organizational structure, and operational guidelines. These components serve as essential references in ensuring that the organization operates in alignment with its goals and values.

During the deliberation process, participants were given the opportunity to express their opinions, suggestions, and feedback openly. The discussion took place in an interactive and conducive environment, reflecting a strong culture of deliberation and consensus-building rooted in democratic values. Each contribution played a crucial role in refining the AD/ART document to ensure its relevance to organizational needs and the dynamic context of student activities. This participatory approach not only strengthened the document but also fostered a sense of ownership among members.

Following a comprehensive discussion and consultation process, all participants reached a consensus on the final version of the AD/ART, which was then officially ratified as the organization’s governing framework. This ratification signifies SKI OASE FPK UNAIR’s commitment to operating in a professional, transparent, and accountable manner. The establishment of a clear governance structure is expected to enhance organizational performance and ensure consistency in program execution.

Beyond its institutional function, this activity also served as a valuable learning experience for students in understanding the importance of good organizational governance. Through active involvement in the drafting process, students developed critical thinking skills, effective communication abilities, and collaborative decision-making competencies. The integration of Islamic values within the deliberation process further enriched the experience by promoting ethical leadership and mutual respect.

The initiative also aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The participatory drafting process supports SDG 4 (Quality Education) by providing an educational and practical organizational learning experience. The emphasis on transparency, accountability, and democratic governance aligns with SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions). Furthermore, the active involvement of all members reflects SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through internal collaboration and collective engagement within the organization.

With the establishment of a comprehensive AD/ART, SKI OASE FPK UNAIR is now equipped with a strong foundation to guide its future programs and activities. This milestone highlights the vital role of student organizations in fostering good governance while instilling values of responsibility, leadership, and integrity among students. Moving forward, the organization is expected to continue contributing positively to the academic and social environment within FPK UNAIR.
