In an effort to deepen academic synergy and advance research collaboration among higher education institutions, the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences (UNAIR FPK) of Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) conducted an official visit to the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences (UNDIP FPIK) of Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP) in Semarang on Monday, 28 April 2025.
The UNAIR FPK delegation, led by Dean Prof. Ir. Mochammad Amin Alamsjah, M.Si., Ph.D., was warmly welcomed by Dean Prof. Agus Trianto, S.T., M.Sc., Ph.D. of UNDIP FPIK, accompanied by the leadership team and faculty members of the host faculty. The purpose of this visit was to evaluate the implementation of existing cooperation agreements and to chart strategic directions for future collaboration. During the meeting, both parties reviewed the outcomes of joint activities that have been carried out, including collaborative research, student exchange programs, development of curriculum based on the Indonesian National Qualifications Framework (KKNI) and international standards, as well as co‑authored scholarly publications.
“This visit represents our genuine commitment to forging a collaboration that is not merely administrative, but yields real academic and social impact. We aim to expand cooperation into areas with high relevance to national fisheries sector challenges,” said Dean Amin Alamsjah in his remarks. One of the main topics discussed was the success of joint research in aquaculture biotechnology, particularly relating to broodstock management and fish health diagnostics. Both faculties have also been actively engaged in preparing competitive research proposals and publishing in reputable journals.
Dean Agus Trianto expressed his appreciation for the productive partnership with UNAIR FPK. “We see substantial opportunities to broaden collaboration, including in climate‑mitigation‑based capture fisheries, coastal region conservation, and innovation in post‑harvest fishery products,” he explained. On the same occasion, Vice Dean I of UNDIP FPIK, Dr. Putut Har Riyadi, S.Pi., M.Si., also reported on the successful establishment of a newly in‑demand Study Program in Fisheries Technology and Business under the Department of Fishery Products Technology.
This visit underlines the commitment of UNAIR FPK to building sustainable partnerships aimed at enhancing the quality of higher education, creating flagship research, and making a tangible contribution to the development of a sustainable national fisheries sector.
