SURABAYA — On the morning of Saturday, May 24, 2025, the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences at Universitas Airlangga was buzzing with energy. Beneath the bright Surabaya sky and in front of the iconic Garuda Mukti statue, a group of young students wearing FPC (Fisheries Processing Club) uniforms from the Adibrata 2025 Cabinet moved with purpose. They weren’t prepping for an exam or a lab session—instead, they were putting their organization on the map through an official Company Profile project.
But this wasn’t just about introducing the new leadership or updating their Instagram look. It was a deliberate move to place student learning within the larger framework of sustainable development—particularly SDG 2 (Zero Hunger), SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), SDG 14 (Life Below Water), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
“Through this activity, we’re not just showing who we are; we’re proving that students can be agents of change—in food, ocean, and education sectors,” said the FPC Media and Information Coordinator. The students dove into content writing, visual communication, and strategic publishing—gaining critical real-world experience.
What’s particularly noteworthy is the thematic focus on sustainable seafood. Topics such as minimizing fish waste and protecting marine biodiversity were highlighted in the content (SDG 12 & 14). Their social media wasn’t just aesthetic—it was educational, crafted to raise awareness.
On the educational front (SDG 4), this project served as a hands-on learning model. Members learned collaboration, digital communication, and how to use online platforms as educational tools. It’s the kind of experience rarely found in lecture halls, yet deeply relevant for today’s fast-evolving workforce.
Far beyond a mere publication, the 2025 FPC Company Profile became a growth space—for the organization and its members. It solidified FPC’s identity and gave students a platform to speak boldly about oceans, food, and a more sustainable future.
