The 2024 PEMIRA FPK UNAIR was not only an event to choose leaders but also reflected the active participation of students in the democratic process on campus. Throughout the event, from November 11 to December 14, student enthusiasm was palpable, with many candidates registering for various important positions. From the Student Legislative Council (BLM), the Student Executive Board (BEM), to the Student Association Chair (KAHIMA), students showed a strong desire to engage in decision-making that impacts campus life.
Inspiring Student Participation
During the campaign phase, students were given the opportunity to listen to the visions and missions of the candidates. The Panelist and Campus Community Test were crucial moments to delve deeper into the programs proposed by the candidates. In this forum, students, faculty, and organizational advisors provided assessments of the leadership abilities of the candidates who would lead FPK UNAIR in the future.
Voting and Its Impact
The peak of PEMIRA was the voting process, held on December 9, 2024. With the direct voting system, students were given the opportunity to choose the candidates they believed were best suited to bring about the changes they desired. After the voting, students also had the right to file objections within the designated period, ensuring that the democratic process was transparent and fair.
With the conclusion of PEMIRA, the hope is that the newly elected leaders will be able to implement programs that will benefit the advancement of the faculty. Innovations in leadership and student involvement in this process are positive indicators for the future of FPK UNAIR.
