UNAIR Hosts International Conference on Fisheries and Marine 2025 in Bali

The Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science, Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR), once again marked its global academic presence by organizing the International Conference on Fisheries and Marine 2025 in collaboration with the International Conference on Biotechnology and Food Sciences. The prestigious two-day event was held on September 3–4, 2025, at Harris Convention Hall, Bali, and gathered participants from around the world.

Strengthening UNAIR’s Global Academic Role

As a faculty committed to innovation in fisheries and marine sciences, FPK UNAIR showcased its dedication through this international conference. More than 100 participants joined the event as oral presenters and poster presenters from various institutions worldwide.

The forum served as a strategic platform for academics, researchers, practitioners, and students to share knowledge, expand networks, and discuss current developments in fisheries, marine science, biotechnology, and food science.


International Keynote Speakers

The conference welcomed keynote speakers from five countries:

  • Australia
  • Japan
  • South Korea
  • Malaysia
  • Indonesia

They delivered insightful presentations on global issues, such as sustainable fisheries, cutting-edge biotechnology applications, seafood-based food innovations, and climate change adaptation strategies for coastal ecosystems.

The audience showed high enthusiasm, not only during keynote speeches, panel discussions, and presentations but also through informal networking opportunities that enriched the exchange of ideas across disciplines.


Collaboration with Partner Universities

This success was achieved through strong collaboration with partner universities in Bali and beyond, including:

  • Udayana University
  • Warmadewa University
  • Jembrana Marine and Fisheries Polytechnic
  • Dhyana Pura University
  • Mahasaraswati University
  • Raja Ali Haji Maritime University (Bintan)

This collaboration highlighted UNAIR’s vision of strengthening international academic networks.


Dean’s Remark

In his opening speech, the Dean of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science UNAIR emphasized that the conference demonstrates UNAIR’s strong commitment to global academic collaboration.

“We believe that scientific progress can only be achieved through interdisciplinary and international collaboration. The presence of global experts in this forum shows that marine and fisheries issues are of global concern that must be addressed together,” he stated.
