Academic Profile

Dr. Veryl Hasan, S.Pi., M.P. is a lecturer and researcher at the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Universitas Airlangga, specializing in Ichthyology and Fish Resources Management. His research focuses on fish biodiversity, taxonomy, domestication, conservation, and sustainable aquaculture development.

His scientific work contributes to the understanding and conservation of aquatic biodiversity through studies on fish identification, classification, ecology, and resource management. He actively develops research on fish domestication and conservation-based fisheries management to support the sustainable utilization of aquatic resources.

Dr. Veryl is internationally recognized for his contributions to fisheries science and aquatic biodiversity research. He has served as principal investigator and coordinator for several international research grants funded by institutions in the United Kingdom and Japan. His achievements include receiving the Southeast Asia’s Best Young Fisheries Researcher Award from the ASEAN Fisheries Education Network (ASEAN-FEN) and being listed among the World’s Top 2% Scientists by Elsevier.

He has published extensively in internationally indexed journals and achieved a Scopus H-index of 23 (Scopus ID: 57208215512), making him one of the most highly cited researchers in fisheries science at Universitas Airlangga.
