On 15 May 2025 in Bandung, the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences at Universitas Airlangga (FPK UNAIR) conducted key visits to two prestigious institutions—namely the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science at Universitas Padjadjaran (FPIK Unpad) and the School of Life Sciences and Technology at Institut Teknologi Bandung (SITH ITB)—with the aim of strengthening collaboration across the university’s tri‑dharma mandates: education, research and community service.
The visit programme began at Unpad’s Jatinangor campus and continued at SITH ITB. Upon arrival at SITH ITB, the FPK UNAIR delegation was welcomed by the Dean, Endah Sulistyawati, S.Si., Ph.D., who opened an intensive discussion forum focused on avenues of collaboration between the institutions. Also present in the meeting were Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs, Indra Wibowo, S.Si., M.Sc.; the Head of the Master and Doctoral Biology Study Programme, Isty Adhitya, Dr. Eng., S.Si., M.Si.; and the Head of the Master Biomanagement Study Programme, Sofiatin, S.Hut., M.Si.
Throughout the discussion, the representatives of FPK UNAIR and SITH ITB engaged in a warm and productive exchange, exploring potential synergy in areas such as marine biodiversity research, fisheries biotechnology, and staff & student mobility programmes. Both parties emphasised the importance of interdisciplinary partnership in addressing future challenges related to the environment and food‑security.
This visit series marks FPK UNAIR’s commitment to forging active collaboration with higher‑education institutions across Indonesia—in order to strengthen the implementation of the tri‑dharma principle through innovation and social impact.
