Surabaya, June 5, 2025 — The Community of Fisheries Entrepreneurship (COFFEE) program, organized by the Ministry of Creative Economy, Student Executive Board (BEM) of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Universitas Airlangga (FPK UNAIR), was successfully held at the Student Center FPK UNAIR. The event brought together students, education staff, and representatives from various student organizations across the faculty. The program served as an initiative to support the entrepreneurial potential of the academic community—particularly campus-based Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs)—to become more productive, innovative, and competitive.

The COFFEE program was designed as a collaborative platform for entrepreneurial development, promotion, and mentorship, aiming to help MSME actors expand their market reach. During the event, data collection was conducted for ten MSMEs operated by students and staff, with five successfully marketed through the Fishmart platform and promoted via official organizational social media channels. The activity ran smoothly, filled with enthusiasm and interaction among participants who shared their experiences, discussed marketing strategies, and explored challenges and opportunities in developing small-scale businesses within the campus environment.

Beyond serving as a product promotion forum, the COFFEE program also functioned as a networking hub for business collaboration and community empowerment. The initiative fostered new ideas in sustainable business management and marketing innovation. In addition, participants received educational insights on the importance of branding, digital marketing, and sustainable business management—essential skills to navigate today’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Overall, the COFFEE 2025 program successfully achieved most of its objectives, leaving a positive impact on campus entrepreneurship. It not only increased MSME visibility and enhanced students’ entrepreneurial spirit but also strengthened the faculty’s contribution to developing the creative economy both within the university and the surrounding community. This initiative stands as a tangible example of how academic collaboration can drive innovation, community empowerment, and economic growth through entrepreneurship in fisheries and marine-related fields.
