UNAIR NEWS – Implementation of computer-based writing exams conducted simultaneously on 5 July 2020. Among the thousands of participants who participated in UTBK, five blind participants took the exam on Tuesday, 07 June at PPMB Campus C UNAIR.
Rizal Kurniawan Hidayat, one of the blind participants, traveled from Malang by himself to join the UTBK at Universitas Airlangga. Moreover, he did not necessarily give up his passion for continuing his education at university.
He has prepared himself starting from last March for the UTBK test. “I prepared UTBK starting from March with my friends. I’m optimistic about this UTBK test. We must be confident that we will achieve success in the future, “he said.
Furthermore, UNAIR has also prepared all the necessary equipment ranging from location, specialized tools, and programming. Prof. Dr. Bambang Sektiari Lukiswanto, Drh., DEA as UTBK committee and education director UNAIR, mentioned that UTBK preparation is not too complicated.
“Special tools include a headset that is directly connected to the questions made for the blind participants. The headset is used to read the questions on the computer. While the keyboard is used to input the participants’ answers, and they are accustomed to using the keyboard. In addition to the exam application, the voice is also designed for Indonesian people, “he concluded.
