PERTAMINA AND HISWANA MIGAS PROVIDE PPE AID AND GASOLINE VOUCHERS FOR MEDICAL WORKERS

UNAIR NEWS – Various parties continue to work together to overcome COVID-19. PT Pertamina (Persero) Marketing Officer of Region V Surabaya and National Oil and Gas Entrepreneur Association (Hiswana Migas) Jatimbalinus distributed PPE aid to three hospitals, Pertamax vouchers and free oil change packages for medical vehicles. These hospitals are Universitas Airlangga Hospital, Dr. Soetomo and Husada Utama Hospital.

The aid was handed over by Ismed Jauhar as Chairman of DPD V Hiswana Migas and Rustam Aji as Unit Manager of Communication and CSR Marketing Operation V Surabaya to Rector of Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) Prof. Dr. Mohammad Nasih, SE., MT., Ak., CMA. In this case, Pertamina and Hiswana Migas are trying to work together to assist medical workers supplying PPE to handle COVID-19.

Ismed Jauhar said that the donation was carried out evenly in all regencies in East Java. The donation is expected to be distributed from each region to the national level. The PPE distributed to RSUA include 240 pcs of hazmat clothes, 60 pcs of KN-95 masks, 350 pcs of face shields, and 50 pcs of medical goggles. While to Dr. Soetomo Hospital included 1280 hazmat shirts, 200 pcs kN-95 masks, 350 pcs face shields, 50 pcs medical goggles and Husada Hospital with 45 pcs hazmat shirts, 5 cardboard KN-95 masks and 49 pcs medical goggles. other than that

“We hope this aid can be used as well as possible in helping hospital medical workers. Because our expertise is not medical, so we can only help in donating the necessary medical equipment, “he said.

Rustam Aji also said that due to an outbreak of COVID-19, hospitals especially medical staff, need assistance from all parties. Although the task of Pertamina and Hiswana Migas is to distribute fuel and LPG to the community, both are also moved to provide assistance to medical workers and communities affected by COVID-19.

“Hopefully this aid can ease the task of the medical workers. So the medical workers can do their work well and do not worry about the PPE used. It can also facilitate the journey of medical workers with Pertamax fuel vouchers and free oil changes, “he said.

Meanwhile, Prof. Nasih expressed his gratitude for the support and attention from all parties who have helped UNAIR in handling COVID-19. It is not easy to handle the problem for the community so it takes a long time.

“We can support them with our competencies and capacities. Considering the last few months UNAIR’s position as recipient of amil zakat really needs support from various parties. We hope that medical staff at the hospital will no longer worry about PPE issues so they will focus on providing healthcare services, “he said.

“Regarding the COVID-19 response, UNAIR has been involved thoroughly. The others work at home but our medical staff still work at the hospital 24 hours, “he concluded.

This support is expected to provide encouragement to medical personnel and they continue to maintain health until the COVID-19 outbreak passes. The mutual assistance effort, he continued, is a major force in preventing the spread of the virus.
