The International guest lecture on Food Microbiology delivered by Professor Young Mog Kim from Department of Food Science, Faculty of Fisheries Science, Pukyong National University of Busan, Korea was well organized by Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Universitas Airlangga on October 8 – 9 2015 at the faculty Building B203. It was attended by approximately 150 Undergraduate students from Aquaculture and Fishery Product Technology Study Programme. The First day of the guest lecture was focussed on the speech about the antioxidant activity of Gamma Butiric Acid (GABA) purified from Fermented Sea Tangles, which is produced by Lactobacillus brevis strain BJ20 isolated from fermented korean foods. He pursued that fermentation is the suitable method to increase the bioactive substances existed in the whole food, because his work evidenced that fermentation occurs GABA bioconversion from glutamate by enzyme secreted by Lactobacillus brevis strain BJ20. In the second day, he explained the antimicrobial activity of potential marine products preventing skin disease caused by bacteria Insfection Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). He well evidenced according to his research on the efficacious of brown seaweeed extract tested to the invitro bacteria growth inhibition , which is stronger than other chemical syntetic antibiotics. The fashionable information represented in this program was natural products from marine resources is the good foodstuff to prevent the infectious disease for the people all over the world.  In those special days Prof. Kim attended a rountable discussion within the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Deanship to review the Memorandum of Agreement approved within Universitas Airlangga and Pukyong National University in 2014 and He represented the stratgy to publish scientific article to the high impact factor International Journal. His speech enlightens all of the lecturers attended that agenda, because he has published more than 100 articles to the International Journal and she achieved his Professor position early. This program expected can encorage all of the academian throughout Faculty of Fisheries and Marine, Universitas Airlangga to explore more about the potential various marine resources to provide wide variety functional foods or superfood for human prosperity in the world, in the other hand this program aimed to reinforce the collaboration within Universitas Airlangga and Pukyong National University, because we determine the future of Indonesian fisheries through Universitas Airlangga Student.
