FPK News – On February 15-17 2019, Airlangga University held an annual routine of Airlangga Education Expo (AEE) at the Airlangga Convention Center (ACC), Airlangga University (UNAIR). The activity was organized by the New Student Admission Center (PPMB) in collaboration with all Faculties, Institutions, Directorates and Supporting Units in the scope of Airlangga University. AEE activities are attended by thousands of students, parents, and high school (SMA) / vocational high school (SMK) / equivalent teachers. This AEE activity aims to provide information to the public, especially students who will continue their studies to Airlangga University who want to know more about UNAIR. This AEE was opened by the Chancellor of Airlangga University, Prof. Dr. Mohammad Nasih, SE., Mt., Ak., CMA. In addition to the educational Expo, this event was also enlivened by seminars, talk shows, stand up comedy and Fadly “Padi” performances.
As one of the Faculties that always supports the performance of the University, the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Affairs (FPK) participated in AEE activities with high enthusiasm. AEE activities are also one of the platforms for promoting FPK to attract high school / vocational / equivalent students. In the event, FPK presented a booth with a blue sea background by displaying aquascape and various superior products of the Faculty both food and non-food which were the result of the creation of students or villages assisted by the Lecturers when Community Service (PKM) included jelly seaweed, mangrove syrup , spirulina noodles, crackers and seaweed sticks. FPK also provided information regarding quota of SNMPTN, SBMPTN, and MANDIRI, study programs and graduate profiles, student exchange to work opportunities if they were FPK students.
In this opportunity, the Dean of FPK Prof. Dr. Mirni Lamid, MP. also gave his impression related to the Expo activities. “This educational expo is very useful for high school students to get to know more about the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Affairs. In the future, I want to improve the booth by showing the best research results of students or lecturers who are very helpful in improving the world of fisheries and maritime affairs and of course make the community aware that fishery products are very extraordinary and have not been explored so much that they will be developed ” this is an important event for FPK to be able to attract the best students and it is hoped that through this activity, FPK enthusiasts will increase.
