Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences (FPK), Universitas Airlangga – February 12, 2026. Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR), through its Professional Certification Institute (Lembaga Sertifikasi Profesi/LSP), has officially opened registration for the 2026 Competency Test for active UNAIR students. This initiative provides students with the opportunity to obtain a nationally standardized certification issued by the National Professional Certification Agency (Badan Nasional Sertifikasi Profesi/BNSP), reinforcing the university’s commitment to inclusive, high-quality higher education aligned with industry needs and sustainable workforce development.
The 2026 Competency Test is organized by Universitas Airlangga under the authority of the Professional Certification Institute (LSP), which is licensed by the National Professional Certification Agency (BNSP). The program is open to active UNAIR students who meet the academic requirements and are enrolled in study programs aligned with the available certification schemes. Registration will take place from February 2–13, 2026, while the competency assessments are scheduled for March 2–13, 2026. Detailed information regarding procedures, requirements, and certification schemes can be accessed through the official websites at http://lsp.unair.ac.id and http://piptp.unair.ac.id. By providing 24 certification schemes across various disciplines, UNAIR ensures that students from diverse academic backgrounds—including those from the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences (FPK)—can validate their competencies in accordance with national occupational standards.
The implementation of this competency test is designed to ensure that students possess measurable, validated skills, knowledge, and professional attitudes that correspond to current industry demands. Through structured assessment methods conducted by certified assessors, participants undergo a rigorous evaluation process that reflects real-world professional standards. This initiative supports the concept of lifelong learning and strengthens students’ vocational and professional skill development. For FPK UNAIR students in particular, nationally recognized certification enhances readiness for fisheries and marine-related industries, research institutions, environmental management sectors, and community-based development programs. Furthermore, the BNSP certificate serves as a competitive advantage in internship placements, participation in the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) program, and job recruitment processes, while simultaneously enriching students’ academic and professional portfolios.
Eligible participants include active UNAIR students from relevant study programs who have reached at least the fifth semester for Diploma III (D3) programs or the seventh semester for Diploma IV (D4) and Bachelor’s (S1) programs. Administrative requirements include submission of academic transcripts (KHS) from the first semester to the most recent semester, copies of the Student Identification Card (KTM) and National Identification Card (KTP), a recent passport photograph, and an internship or fieldwork certificate (PKL) if available. These requirements are established to maintain the quality and integrity of the certification process, ensuring alignment with higher education quality assurance principles. Through this program, Universitas Airlangga reaffirms its dedication to producing competent graduates who are not only academically accomplished but also professionally certified, industry-ready, and capable of contributing meaningfully to research, innovation, and community engagement within the fisheries and marine sector.
