Denpasar, March 6, 2025 – In a strategic move to strengthen global academic networks, the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences (FPK) at Universitas Airlangga visited the Faculty of Agriculture and Business at Universitas Mahasaraswati, Bali. This visit aimed to explore academic partnerships and discuss the faculty’s active role in the upcoming International Conference in Bali on September 3–4, 2025.
The Airlangga FPK delegation, led by Dr. Eng. Sapto Andriyono, S.Pi., MT., was warmly received by the leadership and academic staff of Universitas Mahasaraswati. During the visit, both parties engaged in in-depth discussions on potential collaboration in hosting and contributing to the International Conference. The conference is expected to gather scholars, researchers, and practitioners from various countries to address contemporary issues in fisheries and marine sciences, offering a platform for knowledge exchange and international networking.
Key points of the discussion included the possible involvement of Universitas Mahasaraswati as a co-host and its active participation in research presentations and discussion sessions. By collaborating, both institutions aim to enhance the reach and impact of the conference, strengthen academic ties, and elevate their presence in the global research community. This strategic partnership highlights the commitment of both universities to advancing research excellence and innovation in the fields of fisheries and marine science.
In addition to conference collaboration, the visit provided an opportunity for FPK Airlangga to introduce its graduate programs, namely the Master’s in Fisheries and Marine Biotechnology and the Master’s in Fisheries Science. Presentations were delivered by Muhammad Hanif Azhar, S.Pi., M.Si., Ph.D., and Kustiawan Tri Pursetyo, S.Pi., M.Vet., Ph.D., who shared insights into the programs’ curricula, research opportunities, and admission pathways. This initiative is intended to attract prospective students from Universitas Mahasaraswati to pursue advanced studies in fisheries and marine sciences at Universitas Airlangga.
The visit underscores FPK Universitas Airlangga’s strategic approach to strengthening partnerships with domestic and international institutions. By engaging in joint academic activities such as international conferences and student mobility programs, the faculty seeks to contribute to the development of research, innovation, and human resource capacity in the fisheries and marine sector.
