As part of its ongoing commitment to institutional excellence and accountable governance, the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Universitas Airlangga (FPK UNAIR), continued its administrative strengthening agenda through the Coretax and Annual Tax Return (SPT) Reporting Socialization held on 11 February 2026 at Room B 302, FPK UNAIR. As a continuation of Part 2 of the previous session, this initiative was strategically designed to enhance institutional governance capacity while reinforcing tax compliance awareness among lecturers and educational staff. The activity reflects FPK UNAIR’s proactive approach in aligning internal administrative practices with national regulatory developments and digital transformation in public financial systems.
The primary objective of the activity was to improve the understanding of lecturers and administrative personnel regarding the latest taxation regulations and policies introduced by the Indonesian government. Through comprehensive explanations and technical guidance on the Coretax system, participants were equipped with updated knowledge on digital tax administration procedures, ensuring that they can accurately complete and submit their Annual Tax Returns (SPT) in a timely manner. By focusing on procedural clarity and regulatory updates, the session aimed to minimize administrative errors that could potentially affect both individuals and the institution. The implementation of Coretax as an integrated digital taxation platform requires institutional readiness, and this socialization program served as a concrete step in ensuring that the system is utilized effectively, efficiently, and in accordance with established regulations. Furthermore, the activity emphasized the importance of fostering a professional and accountable administrative culture within the academic environment, positioning tax compliance not merely as an obligation but as an integral component of institutional integrity.
From the perspective of academic community benefits, the program delivered substantial value to FPK UNAIR’s lecturers and educational staff. Participants gained improved tax literacy and a deeper understanding of regulatory frameworks governing annual tax reporting. The guidance provided during the session simplified the SPT reporting process, reducing uncertainty and technical barriers commonly encountered in digital reporting systems. More importantly, the initiative strengthened a culture of compliance and transparency within the faculty, reinforcing shared responsibility in maintaining proper governance standards. Tax compliance extends beyond individual administrative duties; it represents a civic responsibility that contributes directly to national development. Tax revenue plays a critical role in financing sustainable development initiatives, including poverty alleviation (SDG 1), food security (SDG 2), climate change mitigation (SDG 13), and the protection of marine ecosystems (SDG 14). For an institution specializing in fisheries and marine sciences, this alignment between tax responsibility and sustainable development goals further underscores the interconnectedness between governance, environmental stewardship, and national progress.
As a higher education institution dedicated to fisheries and marine sciences, FPK UNAIR consistently reinforces internal governance integrity as a foundational pillar in implementing the tridharma of higher education—education, research, and community service. Transparent and accountable administrative systems are essential to support high-quality academic programs, innovative marine research, and impactful community engagement initiatives. This Coretax and Annual Tax Reporting socialization represents a tangible effort to ensure that administrative systems operate transparently, professionally, and adaptively within a rapidly evolving regulatory landscape. Moving forward, FPK UNAIR remains committed to establishing strategic partnerships with various units within Universitas Airlangga to promote adaptive, digitally integrated, and sustainability-oriented governance systems.
