Fun Badminton was held on June 25, 2025 and October 3, 2025 at GOR Semampir, bringing together members of BEM FPK Universitas Airlangga and external participants in a vibrant and energetic atmosphere. Although organized within each respective ministry, the activity moved far beyond formal organizational routines. It provided a relaxed yet meaningful space for students to stay active, build interpersonal connections, and foster solidarity—values that strongly support academic collaboration, research initiatives, and community engagement within the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences.
The Fun Badminton sessions took place at GOR Semampir and involved members of BEM FPK Universitas Airlangga alongside several external participants who joined to enrich the interaction. From the moment participants entered the sports hall, the atmosphere felt dynamic and welcoming. The sound of shuttlecocks echoing across the court, warm-up rallies, and friendly greetings between ministries created a lively yet comfortable environment. The event did not follow a complex ceremonial structure; instead, it was guided by a simple principle: come ready to play and ready to enjoy. Participants formed pairs and teams based on their respective ministries, fostering light-hearted competition that enhanced engagement while maintaining camaraderie. This approach reflects the collaborative culture within FPK Unair, where inter-ministerial cooperation also plays an important role in supporting student-led research programs, academic discussions, and community outreach projects in the fisheries and marine sector.
Throughout the sessions, spontaneous and memorable moments enriched the overall experience. Rackets slipping from players’ hands, humorous celebrations after unexpected points, and playful cheers when someone nearly lost balance became shared memories that strengthened bonds among participants. Notably, the games were conducted without formal referees. Instead, mutual trust and sportsmanship guided each match, emphasizing that the true objective was collective enjoyment rather than competition. This spirit mirrors the academic values upheld by FPK Unair, where integrity, collaboration, and mutual respect form the foundation of scientific learning and professional development. In between matches, participants exchanged stories about ongoing academic projects, student initiatives, and upcoming faculty programs, turning the sports hall into an informal networking space that supported organizational synergy and future collaborative opportunities.
As the allotted time at the venue came to an end and participants gradually felt the physical fatigue of an active session, the event concluded naturally. There was no formal closing ceremony—only sincere expressions of gratitude, casual high-fives, and a shared hope to recreate the experience in the future. The simplicity of the closing reflected the essence of Fun Badminton itself: a meaningful gathering rooted in togetherness, well-being, and positive energy. Beyond recreation, the activity reinforced the importance of balance between academic rigor and physical wellness, highlighting how student organizations within FPK Unair continuously strive to cultivate a holistic environment that supports intellectual growth, teamwork, and sustainable community engagement.
