The Student Executive Board of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences Universitas Airlangga (BEM FPK UNAIR) successfully held a collaborative comparative study with the Student Executive Board of the Faculty of Computer Science Universitas Brawijaya (BEM FILKOM UB) on Sunday (10/05/2026). Conducted at the Candradimuka Auditorium on the 9th Floor of the Joint Lecture Building, Universitas Airlangga, the event became a dynamic forum for strengthening interfaculty relations while fostering cross-disciplinary collaboration between fisheries and technology. A total of 220 active student functionaries from both institutions participated enthusiastically throughout the program, creating an interactive atmosphere centered on knowledge exchange, organizational networking, and strategic partnership building.
The indoor agenda officially commenced with an opening session, followed by welcoming remarks from representatives of both student organizations. Each organization then introduced its cabinet structure, work programs, and flagship initiatives to provide participants with broader insights into student governance and organizational management within their respective faculties. The atmosphere grew increasingly engaging during the Question and Answer (Q&A) session and the Forum Group Discussion (FGD), where participants actively exchanged ideas, experiences, and perspectives regarding organizational development, leadership strategies, and student empowerment programs. These sessions not only facilitated intellectual discussion but also strengthened interpersonal connections among participants from different academic backgrounds.
In addition to the formal discussion sessions, the event also featured a variety of interactive activities designed to create a more enjoyable and collaborative environment. Participants took part in several interactive games aimed at enhancing teamwork and communication, followed by a plaque exchange ceremony as a symbol of appreciation and long-term partnership between BEM FPK UNAIR and BEM FILKOM UB. The entire series of activities was further enlivened by joint documentation sessions that captured moments of togetherness and institutional solidarity. To conclude the program, all participants joined an outdoor campus tour around Universitas Airlangga, with the Rectorate Building serving as the final destination point. Through this activity, participants were able to gain a deeper understanding of the university environment while strengthening camaraderie beyond formal discussions.
Through the implementation of this comparative study program, both organizations hope to maintain sustainable relations and establish broader collaboration opportunities in the future. This strategic partnership serves not only as a platform for formal information exchange but also as an important bridge connecting the fields of fisheries and technology. Furthermore, the activity represents one of the concrete efforts of BEM FPK UNAIR in supporting the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 17: “Partnerships for the Goals.” By fostering collaborative partnerships between academic organizations, the program is expected to encourage the emergence of innovative ideas and interdisciplinary initiatives that contribute to the advancement of Indonesia’s maritime technology sector.
