UNAIR Fisheries Student Joins New Southbound Policy Elite Study Program 2025 in Taiwan

Opening of the Elite Study Program

Taipei, Taiwan – The Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Universitas Airlangga (FPK UNAIR), proudly marks another milestone in its international journey. On September 13, 2025, the New Southbound Policy Elite Study Program 2025 was officially launched at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) in Taipei.

Running from September 2025 to January 2026, the program gathers participants from five leading Taiwanese universities, including the National Pingtung University of Science and Technology (NPUST), and delegates from seven partner countries, including Indonesia.

Representing Universitas Airlangga is Defia Putri Mahardika, a student from the Fisheries Product Technology Program, FPK UNAIR. Her presence reflects UNAIR’s commitment to fostering academic excellence and global networking.

Strong Support from Indonesia’s KDEI

The opening ceremony was attended by representatives of embassies and official offices from each participating country. Representing Indonesia was Mr. Johannes Andi, Deputy Representative of the Indonesian Economic and Trade Office (KDEI) Taipei, underscoring the government’s support for Indonesian students in international programs.

Beyond the academic agenda, the program also emphasizes cultural immersion. Following the ceremony, delegates visited the National Taiwan Museum, where they explored Taiwan’s history and heritage firsthand.

This inaugural event sets the stage for a series of enriching academic and cultural activities in the months to come.
