The Fisheries Processing Club (FPC) of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Universitas Airlangga, has consistently demonstrated its commitment to student development through the implementation of two flagship programs in 2025: SELASA (Scholarship and Competition Updates) and Si Paling Prestasi (Most Outstanding Member). Conducted throughout one full organizational period, both initiatives were delivered regularly through FPC’s official Instagram platform, reaching all followers and members within the academic community. These programs reflect FPC’s strategic effort to strengthen academic culture, broaden access to information, and foster a spirit of achievement among students of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Universitas Airlangga.
During the 2025 organizational period, the Fisheries Processing Club (FPC) under the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Universitas Airlangga, implemented the SELASA and Si Paling Prestasi programs as part of its structured student development agenda. The activities were carried out periodically via FPC’s official social media channels, particularly Instagram, ensuring consistent dissemination of information to members and the wider academic community. The primary beneficiaries of these programs were FPC members and students within the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences who actively engage in academic, research, and organizational activities.
The SELASA program was specifically designed as an information-sharing platform focusing on scholarship opportunities and academic or non-academic competitions relevant to fisheries and marine sciences students. By curating and distributing up-to-date information, FPC aimed to support students in accessing opportunities that contribute to academic excellence, research exposure, innovation development, and community engagement. Through systematic publication schedules, SELASA encouraged students to become more proactive in seeking opportunities for self-improvement, whether through research grants, student mobility programs, scientific competitions, or community-based innovation initiatives. The program aligns with the broader academic mission of Universitas Airlangga in nurturing competitive, globally oriented graduates equipped with both theoretical knowledge and practical competencies.
Complementing SELASA, the Si Paling Prestasi program functioned as an appreciation and recognition platform for FPC members who achieved notable accomplishments in academic, social, research, or organizational fields. The initiative aimed not only to acknowledge individual achievements but also to cultivate a culture of excellence within the student organization. Achievements highlighted through this program included academic awards, competition victories, research participation, community service involvement, and leadership contributions. The recognition was publicly shared via FPC’s official social media channels as a form of documentation, transparency, and institutional appreciation. By showcasing members’ accomplishments, FPC fostered motivation among peers, encouraging them to pursue innovation, research productivity, and meaningful contributions to society in line with the values of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences.
Overall, the implementation of both programs ran effectively throughout the year, despite minor technical challenges such as limited time for information compilation and nomination participation constraints. Nevertheless, these challenges did not hinder the achievement of the programs’ primary objectives. SELASA successfully improved students’ access to scholarship and competition information, while Si Paling Prestasi strengthened the culture of recognition and achievement within the organization. Together, these initiatives have contributed positively to enhancing academic engagement, expanding research participation opportunities, and promoting a dynamic and achievement-oriented environment within FPC and the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Universitas Airlangga.
