Surabaya – SEMIKAT FUN Running 2026 brought together students of the Aquaculture Study Program, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine (FPK), Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR), through a recreational sports event designed to strengthen camaraderie and promote a healthy lifestyle. Organized by the Department of Arts, Interests, and Talents (SEMIKAT) of the Aquaculture Student Association (HIMAKUA), the event was held on Friday (3/7/2026) at Universitas Airlangga’s Campus C and was attended by 40 participants.

SEMIKAT FUN is a recreational work program created to foster stronger relationships among students through various sporting activities. Following its inaugural badminton event, the second edition adopted a fun running concept that emphasized healthy living, sportsmanship, and a spirit of togetherness within the student community.

The event began with a briefing session led by the organizing committee, providing participants with information about the running route, event procedures, and safety guidelines. Participants then joined a group warm-up session before starting the run.

The fun running route started from the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine and finished at the Universitas Airlangga Rectorate area. Throughout the course, participants enjoyed a relaxed yet energetic atmosphere while taking the opportunity to maintain their physical fitness amid busy academic and organizational commitments.

The chairperson of SEMIKAT FUN Running 2026 explained that the program was designed not only to encourage students to exercise but also to strengthen relationships among HIMAKUA members.

“We hope SEMIKAT FUN can become a platform for students to maintain their health while strengthening their sense of togetherness. Through simple activities such as exercising together, we believe the values of solidarity and collaboration within HIMAKUA will continue to grow,” the committee chair stated.

After completing the run, participants took part in a bottle relay game that created an exciting and lively atmosphere. The activity was designed to develop teamwork, communication skills, and sportsmanship through enjoyable group challenges.

The program continued with an awarding session to recognize participants for their enthusiasm and active involvement throughout the event. The celebration concluded with a group photo session, marking the successful completion of the activity.

One participant shared that the event provided an enjoyable opportunity to build stronger friendships outside the classroom.

“Activities like this allow us to get to know one another beyond academic life. Besides being good for our health, the event was enjoyable because we could exercise together while strengthening our friendships,” the participant said.

Through SEMIKAT FUN Running 2026, the SEMIKAT Department hopes to continue providing students with opportunities to maintain physical well-being while fostering solidarity within the organization. Future editions featuring different sports are expected to encourage students to stay active, healthy, and collaborative.

The event also reflects HIMAKUA’s commitment to creating a student environment that balances academic activities, personal development, and physical well-being. Furthermore, SEMIKAT FUN Running 2026 supports the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being) by promoting healthy lifestyles and positive physical activity among university students.
