Exploring Research and Global Education Opportunities
The academic visit of Aquaculture students from Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) to James Cook University Singapore marks an important step in expanding global exposure for the students.
At The Tropical Future Institute, the students engaged in in-depth academic discussions with leading researchers and lecturers. These sessions provided insights into the latest trends and challenges in tropical aquaculture, a key area of study with growing relevance for global food security.
Access to Advanced Research Facilities
The students also had the opportunity to explore state-of-the-art research facilities at James Cook University. These facilities include laboratories for fish nutrition studies, aquaponics systems, and environmental resilience research in tropical aquaculture.
For the participants, this exposure offered not only new knowledge but also a broader perspective on how international research is developed and supported by modern technology.
Future Collaboration Opportunities
Beyond the visit, this program also serves as the foundation for future collaborations between UNAIR and James Cook University. Several initiatives are being considered, such as:
Student exchange programs for broader academic experience.
Joint research projects in sustainable aquaculture.
International seminars as a platform for knowledge sharing.
Such opportunities are expected to strengthen UNAIR’s position in the global academic landscape while equipping students with invaluable international experience.
