The “Fistech Mobile Legends Competition” successfully brought together university students and gaming enthusiasts in an electrifying display of e-sports talent. Organized by the Arts, Interests, and Talents Division of HIMATEKHIKAN at Universitas Airlangga, the tournament showcased the growing e-sports culture while fostering connections between local and regional gaming communities. With both online and offline matches, the competition highlighted teamwork, strategy, and fair play, making it an unforgettable experience for participants and spectators alike.
The tournament, held on May 17–18, 2025, online and May 24–25 offline at the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Universitas Airlangga, featured 32 competitive teams from both internal university circles and external participants, including high school students and e-sports communities. The event aimed not only to develop gaming skills but also to promote social interaction and campus engagement, providing a platform for students and the general public to showcase their abilities in Mobile Legends. Throughout the online phase, the competition was fierce, narrowing the pool down to four semi-finalist teams: Tim Kroco, Tim The Shadows, Tim HDE SHURA, and Tim MOON.
On May 24, the semi-final matches created an atmosphere full of excitement and tension. The first semi-final match pitted Tim Kroco against Tim The Shadows, producing an intense battle that ended with Tim The Shadows securing victory 2-1 in a Best of Three format. The second semi-final saw Tim HDE SHURA face Tim MOON, a match that concluded swiftly with Tim MOON winning 2-0. Both semi-final rounds demonstrated high-level strategy, teamwork, and individual player skill, further elevating the competitive spirit of the tournament.
The finals, held on May 25, marked the climax of the event with both anticipation and nerves running high. In the battle for third place, Tim Kroco faced Tim HDE SHURA in a highly competitive match, which ended 2-0 in favor of Tim HDE SHURA. The grand final between Tim The Shadows and Tim MOON was conducted as a Best of Five series, demanding a team to win three matches to claim the championship. Demonstrating superior coordination and strategy, Tim The Shadows dominated the gameplay from start to finish, winning the final 3-0 and earning the championship title.
The tournament concluded with an awarding ceremony, celebrating the outstanding performances of all teams. Tim The Shadows was crowned champion, Tim MOON secured second place, and Tim HDE SHURA took third place. The ceremony reflected the high spirit of sportsmanship and fairness, as participants and organizers exchanged congratulations and handshakes. For the organizing committee, the event was a resounding success, serving as both a networking opportunity for gamers and a platform to enhance the e-sports culture within and beyond the university. This initiative also emphasized Universitas Airlangga’s commitment to fostering student talents and encouraging engagement through extracurricular and community-oriented activities
