Surabaya – The Aquaculture Student Association, through the Department of Student Resource Development (PSDM), Faculty of Fisheries and Marine, Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR), successfully held Natamandara 2025 on Saturday, August 16, 2025. The event, running from 07.00 to 16.00, marked the beginning of freshmen’s journey in embracing their department, academic culture, and campus life.
As an annual tradition in the Aquaculture Department, Natamandara serves not only as an academic orientation but also as a platform to strengthen the bond between freshmen, senior students, lecturers, and staff. With a spirit of togetherness, the program was carefully designed to help freshmen adapt more quickly to their new environment.
In the opening remarks, the committee emphasized that the main goal of Natamandara is to shape freshmen into resilient, confident individuals who are ready to take part in both academic and non-academic activities. Beyond simple introductions, the program instilled pride in the department, leadership values, and the importance of student organizations.
Freshmen were also introduced to the vision, mission, and values of the Aquaculture Student Association. They learned about the significant role of student organizations as platforms for self-development and how active participation can positively contribute to both individual growth and the academic community.
For many participants, Natamandara 2025 was more than just a ceremonial event. It provided a valuable emotional experience: a sense of being welcomed, accepted, and appreciated as part of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine UNAIR. With a warm and inclusive atmosphere, freshmen began building social networks that will serve as strong foundations throughout their academic journey.
Through this activity, freshmen are expected to gain new motivation, broaden their horizons, and prepare themselves to face academic challenges. Natamandara 2025 thus became a meaningful first step in their long journey at Universitas Airlangga.
