Behind every success lies a story of perseverance. This was true for Thalassia Oceannore, whose journey at Airlangga Maritime Week (AMW) 2025 was filled with lessons on teamwork, determination, and courage to face challenges.
Days of Preparation and Learning
Upon their arrival in Surabaya, the team participated in several days of training and mentoring led by FPK UNAIR students. Every presentation was refined, every idea improved.
“We learned so much, especially how to present our ideas scientifically yet engagingly,” one participant recalled.
The friendly atmosphere of the campus helped them adapt quickly. Though nervous at first, they found encouragement from the AMW committee and fellow participants.
Facing Unexpected Challenges
The presentation day became a true test of resilience. A technical issue caused the team to perform last, but instead of giving up, they used the moment to regroup.
“We reminded ourselves why we came here. We gave our best no matter what,” said one of the team members.
Their composure and teamwork impressed the judges from academic and professional maritime backgrounds.
Beyond Competition: A Life Lesson
For Thalassia Oceannore, AMW 2025 was more than just a contest—it was a valuable learning experience. Meeting with UNAIR students and lecturers expanded their understanding of marine innovation and research.
