Pride and Emotion Mark FPK UNAIR July 2026 Graduation Ceremony
Surabaya – A sense of pride and heartfelt emotion filled the July 2026 Graduation Ceremony (Yudisium) of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine (FPK), Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR), held on Friday (August 29, 2026) at the 5th Floor of Building C, FPK UNAIR. A total of 93 students from various academic programs were officially declared graduates during the hybrid ceremony, celebrating the successful completion of their academic journey while marking the beginning of their professional careers.
The graduation ceremony officially conferred 93 graduates from undergraduate and postgraduate programs within FPK UNAIR. The event was attended by the faculty’s leadership, academic staff, administrative personnel, and members of the FPK UNAIR academic community, all of whom extended their congratulations and best wishes to the graduates. More than a ceremonial milestone, the event reflected the faculty’s continued commitment to preparing graduates with the knowledge, skills, and character needed to contribute to society and the global fisheries and marine sector.
One of the distinctive features of this graduation period was its hybrid implementation, allowing graduates to participate both on-site and online. Several students from the Master’s Program in Fisheries and Marine Biotechnology joined the ceremony virtually from Australia and Malaysia, demonstrating that geographical distance did not diminish the significance of sharing this memorable occasion with their alma mater. The hybrid format also highlighted FPK UNAIR’s adaptability in embracing digital connectivity while maintaining the solemnity and inclusiveness of its academic traditions.
Graduates Share Their Pride and Gratitude
The atmosphere became increasingly emotional during the reflection session, where graduates shared stories of perseverance, growth, and unforgettable experiences throughout their academic journey at FPK UNAIR. Their reflections illustrated that university life had provided far more than academic knowledge—it had fostered resilience, friendships, and a deep sense of belonging to the faculty.
One of the graduates from the Undergraduate Program in Fisheries Product Technology, Fauziah Zanizhar Diannisa, expressed her sincere appreciation for becoming part of FPK UNAIR.
“Initially, studying at the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine was never one of my dreams. However, after spending these years here, I can confidently say that I am proud to be part of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine, Universitas Airlangga.”
Her heartfelt statement resonated with many fellow graduates who had discovered unexpected opportunities, personal growth, and meaningful experiences during their years of study. It reflected how academic life at FPK UNAIR not only develops professional competence but also cultivates a lasting connection between students and their alma mater.
Graduation Marks the Beginning of New Opportunities
Another inspiring message came from Fahmi Bayhaqi, a graduate of the Undergraduate Program in Fisheries Product Technology and former President of the FPK UNAIR Student Executive Board (BEM). He encouraged his fellow graduates to view graduation not as the finish line, but as the starting point of a new journey filled with opportunities and continuous learning.
“When life gives you lemons, make lemonade. Whenever we are given opportunities, we should make the most of them. As we transition from university to the professional world, remember that your first job does not define your future career. Instead, it becomes the stepping stone that allows others to recognize your capabilities.”
Through the July 2026 Graduation Ceremony, FPK UNAIR once again reaffirmed its commitment to producing graduates who are academically excellent, adaptive, and prepared to contribute to both professional practice and scientific advancement. The ceremony symbolized not only the completion of higher education but also the beginning of graduates’ lifelong dedication to innovation, collaboration, and service for society.
