Denpasar, March 6, 2025 – The Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences (FPK) at Universitas Airlangga is strengthening its academic network and strategic collaborations to support the university’s Tri Dharma mission. In a visit to the Faculty of Agriculture, Science, and Technology at Universitas Warmadewa in Denpasar, Bali, the Airlangga team explored opportunities for partnership, graduate program promotion, and international conference collaboration.
The delegation from Universitas Airlangga, led by Dr. Eng. Sapto Andriyono, S.Pi., MT, consisted of four key representatives. The purpose of the visit was to enhance cooperation in education, research, and community service while opening avenues for broader academic collaborations between the two institutions. By establishing these links, FPK UNAIR aims to foster mutual growth in marine and fisheries sciences and expand its reach internationally.
During the on-site meeting, the Airlangga team was warmly welcomed by the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, Science, and Technology at Universitas Warmadewa, along with Coordinators of all undergraduate programs under the faculty. The discussions were constructive, focusing on potential areas for joint research, academic exchanges, and collaborative projects in fisheries and marine science. Both parties emphasized the importance of sustainable development, innovation, and knowledge sharing as core principles for their partnership.
In addition to initiating collaboration, FPK UNAIR promoted its graduate programs to prospective students. Muhammad Hanif Azhar, S.Pi., M.Si., Ph.D., presented the Master’s programs in Fisheries and Marine Biotechnology and Fisheries Science. These programs offer research-based curricula and opportunities for collaboration with both domestic and international institutions. The team highlighted how these programs can prepare students for careers in academia, industry, and policy-making, while also encouraging students from Universitas Warmadewa to consider pursuing advanced studies at Universitas Airlangga.
The final agenda of the visit focused on potential collaboration for the upcoming International Conference in Bali on September 3–4, 2025. Dr. nat. techn. Muhammad Nur Ghoyatul Amin, S.TP., MP., M.Sc., as the conference chair, presented the event as a platform for exchanging knowledge, research outcomes, and innovative solutions in fisheries and marine science. The conference aims to attract scholars, researchers, and practitioners from various countries. FPK UNAIR expects Universitas Warmadewa to actively participate and contribute, further strengthening international academic networks.
This visit marks the beginning of a collaborative journey between FPK Universitas Airlangga and Universitas Warmadewa. By leveraging this partnership, both institutions are expected to enhance knowledge development, drive innovation in marine and fisheries studies, and provide meaningful contributions to society and the global academic community. FPK UNAIR remains committed to becoming an academic excellence hub, contributing not only nationally but also internationally through research, education, and community engagement.
