On Saturday, February 21, 2026, the Fisheries Processing Club (FPC) successfully conducted its Articles of Association and Bylaws Assembly, marking an important milestone in strengthening organizational governance and leadership development among students of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Universitas Airlangga (FPK UNAIR). The assembly gathered all active FPC board members to collectively review, discuss, and formally establish the fundamental organizational regulations that will guide the club’s management for the upcoming administrative period. Conducted in a formal yet collaborative atmosphere, the session reflected students’ commitment to professionalism, transparency, and structured organizational learning aligned with academic values and institutional development.
The assembly began with the agreement on session leadership and procedural rules, ensuring that discussions progressed systematically and democratically. Through this structured mechanism, participants were able to engage actively while maintaining order and mutual respect throughout the deliberation process. The discussion first focused on the Articles of Association, which outline the organization’s identity, vision, mission, and structural framework of leadership. These foundational elements serve as the philosophical and operational basis of FPC as a student organization dedicated to enhancing knowledge and skills in fisheries product processing. The process also demonstrated how student organizations function as practical learning platforms, allowing members to apply leadership, governance, and communication competencies developed through academic experiences at FPK UNAIR.
Following the discussion of the Articles of Association, the assembly continued with an in-depth review of the Bylaws, which regulate operational mechanisms, members’ rights and responsibilities, and evaluation systems for organizational programs. Participants were encouraged to actively contribute ideas, feedback, and proposed revisions to ensure that each article remained relevant to current organizational needs and future development goals. The open-discussion format emphasized deliberation and consensus-building, reflecting democratic values embedded within student governance. Through constructive dialogue, the participants reached several agreements that strengthened accountability mechanisms and clarified work procedures. The final outcome of the assembly was the official ratification of the Fisheries Processing Club AD/ART 2026, establishing a legitimate and comprehensive framework for implementing all organizational programs during the management period.
The implementation of the AD/ART Assembly also aligns closely with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), reinforcing the role of student organizations in supporting global development agendas through academic and organizational activities. The assembly contributes to SDG 4 (Quality Education) by fostering organizational learning and enhancing students’ leadership capacity through participatory governance practices. Furthermore, the activity supports SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions) through the adoption of transparent, accountable, and democratic organizational management. Collaboration and collective decision-making during the assembly also reflect SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals), emphasizing coordination and cooperation among members and external stakeholders. In addition, the principles of equality promoted under SDG 5 (Gender Equality) were reflected in the inclusive discussion process, ensuring equal rights and opportunities for all members without discrimination. With the ratification of the AD/ART 2026, it is expected that all FPC administrators and members will carry out their responsibilities consistently, professionally, and in accordance with the agreed organizational standards, further strengthening student contributions to academic development, community engagement, and institutional excellence within FPK UNAIR.
