Surabaya, 2025 — The Sobat FPK Program, initiated by the Ministry of Advocacy and Student Welfare (Adkesma) of BEM FPK Universitas Airlangga, has been successfully implemented throughout the year 2025. Designed as a structured and continuous initiative, Sobat FPK serves as a platform for student aspirations, grievance reporting, and appreciation, aiming to strengthen communication between students, student organizations, and the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences (FPK) administration. The program embodies FPK’s commitment to fostering a transparent, responsive, and inclusive academic environment that prioritizes the well-being and development of its students.
One of the program’s flagship activities, the Student Aspiration Network (JARAS), has been held consistently every month. Through this activity, student aspirations are collected, reviewed, and followed up through hearing forums with academic supervisors before being formally submitted to the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs. This structured process reflects BEM FPK’s dedication to ensuring that every student’s voice is heard and considered by faculty leadership. In addition, the Outstanding Student Appreciation Program has been implemented effectively through bi-monthly data collection of student achievements. The results are published via the official Instagram account of BEM FPK (@bem_fpkunair), serving as both an open recognition platform and a source of motivation for other students to excel. These regular publications have created a positive atmosphere, fostering academic pride and inspiring a culture of achievement within the faculty.
Beyond its aspiration and appreciation components, Sobat FPK also features a comprehensive Public Service and Complaint System, which includes administrative assistance, competition mentoring, and a specialized sexual harassment reporting channel. All services have been publicly socialized through official BEM communication media, ensuring easy accessibility for all FPK students. Specifically for cases related to sexual harassment, BEM FPK collaborates with Satgas PPKS UNAIR to guarantee that the reporting and support mechanisms are conducted safely, confidentially, and professionally. This partnership underscores FPK UNAIR’s firm stance on maintaining a respectful and secure academic environment while prioritizing student protection and empowerment.
Throughout 2025, the Sobat FPK Program has successfully demonstrated its role as a bridge between students and faculty leadership, promoting open dialogue, appreciation, and mutual support. The initiative has not only strengthened solidarity among students but also enhanced institutional responsiveness to student needs. By integrating advocacy, welfare services, and appreciation systems, Sobat FPK contributes to the creation of a supportive and inclusive academic ecosystem within FPK UNAIR. The program concluded its 2025 cycle with remarkable success, marking a significant milestone in student engagement and participatory governance at the faculty level.
Looking forward, Sobat FPK is expected to continue evolving with even broader reach and deeper impact. The sustainability of this program represents a collective effort to build a more empathetic, dynamic, and empowering academic community at Universitas Airlangga, where students are not only heard but also appreciated and supported in their academic and personal journeys.
