On Saturday, September 20, 2025, the Web-Fishpreneur event with the theme “Business Education and Branding for Fishery Products” was successfully held by the Fisheries Product Technology Student Association (HIMATEKHIKAN), specifically under the Creative Economy Division (EKRAF). The event took place in rooms C.701 and C.702 and was attended by first-year students of the 2025 cohort. The program aimed to enhance students’ digital literacy in business management, encourage entrepreneurial spirit, and promote the integration of digital technology to support the development of fishery-based products, both within academic environments and in the wider industry context.

The event officially began at 08.00 WIB, featuring an opening ceremony led by the MC, the singing of Indonesia Raya and Hymne Airlangga, followed by welcoming speeches from the Chairperson of HIMATEKHIKAN and the Person in Charge of Web-Fishpreneur. The main agenda was an educational webinar conducted online via Zoom, featuring Dede Satoe, a practitioner and entrepreneur specializing in creative digital businesses based on fishery products. During the session, the speaker delivered insightful material on the importance of digital branding as a means to build product identity and competitiveness in both national and international markets. He emphasized how a well-crafted brand image and online presence can transform local marine-based products into globally recognized commodities.

Following the webinar, the session continued with an interactive quiz designed to engage participants and encourage active learning. Rewards were given to those who provided the best answers. Participants were also given the opportunity to observe a live simulation of product creation, directly demonstrated by Dede Satoe, showcasing the transformation process from raw fishery materials into innovative market-ready products. The audience showed great enthusiasm, which was evident from their active participation in the discussion and question-and-answer session that followed.

The Creative Economy Division successfully executed the program from planning, coordination, and publication to implementation and evaluation. Their teamwork ensured the event ran smoothly and achieved its educational goals. The combination of practical business insights, real-world demonstrations, and digital marketing education made the event not only informative but also highly relevant to the needs of modern students in the fishery industry.

Overall, Web-Fishpreneur 2025 served as a valuable initiative to foster innovation and entrepreneurship among fisheries students. It highlighted the role of digital technology in advancing product marketing strategies and creating sustainable economic opportunities in the fishery sector. Through this event, FPK UNAIR hopes to inspire a new generation of students who are capable of blending science, creativity, and technology to elevate Indonesia’s marine-based industries to a global level.
